Sansui Anglerfish Hotpot (Mito City)
Sansui offers a range of Ibaraki local specialities such as anglerfish hotpot, Natto (fermented soy beans) dishes, and Okukuji-shamo wildfowl dishes.
‘Kamameshi’ – individual pots of rice simmered with a range of seasonal ingredients in a soy-sauce base – is another of Sansui’s most well-known dishes and is made using a recipes passed down through three-generations. The Kamameshi at Sansui is made using the koshihikari variety of rice grown exclusively for Snasui with a minimum of chemicals. The traditional cooking methods and range of varieties on offer make Snasui’s kamameshi rice dishes popular with people of all ages.
