Kasama Azalea Festival dates back to 1967 when the citizens of Kasama started a movement to plant as many azalea plants as the number of people in Kasama. The festival will celebrate its 50^th anniversary in 2022. The festival venue, Kasama Azalea Park, is located on the side of a small mountain and has an area of 7 hectares. During the azalea season from late April to early May, around 8500 azalea plants cover the hillside in a sea of red.  Various events are held around the area to coincide with the azalea festival.

  By public transport: 5 minutes by Kasama Loop Bus or 25 minutes walk from Kasama Station. Take the Kasama Loop Bus from Kasama Station and get off at Kasama Nichido Museum of Art. Walk 3 minutes. Alternatively, 15 minutes on the Kasama Loop Bus from Tomobe Station. By car: 15 minutes from Kasama-Nishi IC on the Kita-Kanto Expressway. 20 minutes from Iwama IC on the Joban Expressway heading towards Kasama/Tomobe area. 5km from Tomobe IC on the Kita-Kanto Expressway heading towards Kasama area.
