Tsukimachi Falls (Daigo Town)
Tsukimachi Falls is one of the hidden gems of the northern Ibaraki area. While the falls themselves aren’t as dramatic as the more famous Fukuroda Falls, the fall’s unique geology means that visitors can walk behind the curtain of water and observe the rushing water from behind.
The fast flowing water means this is a great place to cool off in the Japanese Summer, and the area is also known for beautiful red maple foliage during the Autumn.
Momijien Soba Restaurant is located next to the falls if you’d like to enjoy a meal while gazing out at the scenery. This restaurant uses locally grown buckwheat flour to make their noodles making them the perfect memory of a trip to Ibaraki.
